UAE is a software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. UAE is written for Unix systems by Bernd Schmidt and many contributors. Pavel is one of the developers of AROS. AROS is a open source, lightweight and efficient desktop operating system, compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 but improving on it in many areas. In the interview Pavel tells about himself, the development of AROS and the future plans with AROS. BetterWB v2.4 | BetterWB is a new workbench pack, much like AIAB, Amikit, AmigaSYS, ClassicWB etc. It aims to be an enhancement and an update to AmigaOS 3.1 but without the need of extra hardware. Changes in this edition: Compact disk player with lots of great features (ACDPlay). SetJoyPort is a program for the use of CD32 style joy pads. Hatari v1.5.0 - AmigaOS 4 | For AmigaOS 4 there is a new version available of Atari ST /STE emulator. Hatari emulates most of the ST / STE hardware including joysticks and hard disk images. Amiga Music Preservation | Last month there was a big update of the Amiga Music Preservation (AMP) web page. AMP wants to be the most comprehensive, complete and precise database about Amiga music. At the moment there are 81462 MODs, 14768 XMs, 4760 S3Ms, 3447 Its and 3634 MEDs. Flashtro Amiga | On the web page Flashtro.com you can see many cracker intro’s with your browser. The original intros from the Amiga, Atari-ST, Dreamcast, PC, Playstation etc. are converted to Flash. The most recent Amiga flashtro’s are: The Champs - New Stuff, Vision Factory and Beyonders- Tetra Quest, Access - Shadow of the Beast 3, Fairlight - Pac Land, Skid Row - Street Rod, Paranoimia - Day of the Viper and many others. Icaros Desktop 1.3.2 | Paolo Besser released a new update of Icaros Desktop. NetSurf v2.8 - Amiga 68k | NetSurf is a small but fast web browser for Amiga (68k and OS4), RISC OS and Linux. NetSurf supports HTML and CSS: A few examples of the changes in this version are: Improved loading times. Libcurl version 7.22.0 is now used. Fixed the wikipedia search. Removed ffplay from archive. Added the natami favicon. Improved the scrollbar buttons and an update to version 1.2.4 of libpng. Removed some small errors and added the missing bookmarks.htm file. X-BENCH v0.1 | Jim is working on X-BENCH. X-BENCH can be used to replace the Workbench when you only want to load games with WHDLoad. At the moment X-BENCH is still in development and Jim would appreciate it if you give feed-back about his program. You can use X-BENCH with all Amigas OCS or AGA and with 68000 - 68060 CPU's. Tiny Launcher 1.3 | Michael Gibs made a program for the Amiga that will make it very easy to start a game or demo. With Tiny Launcher you can navigate through your games and demos with the help of the joystick and start your game or demo. You can use Tiny Launcher on a Amiga 600, 1200, CD32 or with MorphOS. WHDLoad | WHDLoad offers a way to play Amiga diskette games from your hard-disk. Improved: Castle Master (Incentive Software/Domark) and Bart vs. the World (Virgin). BattleTanks - Amiga | Kas1e is working on a Amiga OS4 version of the game Battle Tanks. You can try the game but it has a few bugs at the moment. The sound is disabled, the game sometimes freezes or crashes and the icons are not that beautiful. Battle Tanks is a fun game, where you can choose one of three vehicles and eliminate your enemy using the whole arsenal of weapons. The game is open source, multiplayer and cross-platform (Amiga, Windows, Linux and Mac). BitJam #141 | The title of the BitJam podcats number 141 is Erection Day.
