C64SSD -The hardware transplant | Berry de Jager is working on a new project. Berry is building a modern version of the Commodore C64. He first tested a Raspberry Pi with VICE but was not satisfied with the performance. He decided to use a mini ITX PC with an Atom N2800, 4GB RAM, 64GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, laptop power supply and a Keyrah USB / C64 keyboard interface. You can follow the project on Berry's web page. Computer:club 2 - 30 Years Commodore 64 | The German television program Computer:club 2 made a special episode about the Commodore C64. The Computerclub television program started in 1983 with the presenters Wolfgang Back and Wolfgang Rudolph. Episode 91 is about the Commodore C64, and shows all the versions from the Silver label until the C65. The guests in this show are Frank Erstling (Editor of the Return magazine) and Commodore collector Jan Jansen. Commodore 64: 8 Bit Legend | Mike Berry (The Kernal) made a very beautiful video about the Commodore C64. In this tribute video you can see many games, demo's, cracking groups and a couple of legendary people. The music in the video is made by Terra Cresta, Jess D. Skov-Nielsen and Martin Galway. CRT Games | On the Sam's Commodore Site you can find a collection of .crt files. The data in these files are games that are converted to be used in a cartridge. On the web page you can also find information on how to burn a EPROM and a schematic for building your own cartridge. The most recent addition is a very rare Danish cartridge PA Bubbers Jagten. Stereo SID Card | Mike Berlin is working on a stereo SID card for the Commodore C64. The system has two SID 8085 R5's, four latches, an EPROM and two amplifiers. The card can be inserted in the original connector on the motherboard and there is no special software needed to play the SID tunes in full stereo. With Love - C64 | With Love is a new demo for the Commodore C64 made by the group Delysid. The demo is a real oldskool demo and was made in a period of 8 months. The code was done by Dr.J and Nomistake. The music is from Guy Shavitt, Hithouse, Jens Blidon, Jeroen Tel, Laxity and Sage. The graphics are from dflame and Nomistake. Pop! - C64 demo | Pop! is an new demo for the Commodore C64. The demo was released at the Sundown 2012 meeting and reached the 6th place in the mixed demo competition. The demo is made by Zaz, the music is from ne7 and the graphics are from Devistator. LoadOne | With the LoadOne program, made by Joonas Lindberg, you can generate the data for an datassette file. The program makes on the PC a .tap file from a .prg file. You can enter the name of the program, and the starting address of the program. The program can be used on a Windows PC from the command line. Venerable Moon - C64 SID | Venerable Moon is an new SID for the Commodore C64. The demo was released at the Sundown 2012 meeting and reached the second place in the mixed music competition. The music is made by Stinsen. Super Action 3 - C64 | Roberto Ricioppo made a new game for the Commodore C64 with the help of Sideways SEUCK. In the game you are a motorbike cop, and must save the city from criminals. Jump on your motorbike and destroy all the bad guys. The music in the game is from Richard Baylissen and the tape loader is from Joonas Lindberg. CeviCompo I | Dienstagstreff and Stehrs Softwareschmiede are organizing a game development competition for the Commodore C64. The rules for the competition are: The game must work on a standard C64 with an 1541 disk drive. Maximum size of the game is 664 blocks and must have a splash screen. The competition closes the first of February 2013. Mollusk Redux - C64 | The game Mollusk Redux, made by Achim, is now released by RGCD. In the game you must dive into the ocean and guide the mollusk through 24 levels. This game is an C64 exclusive underwater eat 'em up. The original game was entered in RGCD's 16 kByte Cartridge Game Development Competition (2011). The features of this version are: 4 Stages each with 6 levels, Bonus fish, Hi score table and PAL/NTSC compatibility. Attack the Abyss - C64 | Roberto Ricioppo made a new game for the Commodore C64 with the help of (Sideways) SEUCK. In the game the Abyss has been infected with a virus from the mutant sea creatures. You must destroy the deadly creatures with your torpedoes. C64 Endings | The web page c64endings.co.uk has added new endings of Commodore C64 games. In the game you must defend your home base, but you will get swarmed if you are not quick enough. The game can be played with a joystick. EasyFlash 3 - Firmware | Thomas skoe Giesel has released a new CLPD firmware version for the EasyFlash 3. The EasyFlash 3 is a cartridge for the Commodore C64 with the possibilities of using different cartridge and kernal images. The most recent changes are: Re-enabled AR/RR mode and improved compatibility of KERNAL implementation. Karen Davies interview | Karen Davies used to work as an graphical artist for computer games. She worked at Imagine, Denton Designs, Ocean Software, Special FX and Rage. Gamebase 64 - v9 | The team of Gamebase 64 released version 9. The total is now more than 23,000 entries, 500 more then the previous version.
